The TWGAW holds regular meetings, usually one every two months, to exchange information and discuss the different issues related to the development of the Agriculture and Water sector, including the assessment of the Joint Monitoring Indicators (JMIs) for which it is responsible. All the minutes of the meetings are available.
At the beginning of each year, an annual workplan is prepared. It is mainly implemented through different sub-groups, called taskforces, specifically set up to work on agreed priority issues, such as, for example: Develop a medium term strategy and sectoral framework for the Agriculture and Water sector / Understand and enhance links between agricultural extension and water management for agricultural activities / Promote sustainable management and development of irrigation activities

The taskforces provide regular reports to the TWGAW, which in turn reports to the Government-Donor Coordination Committee, through quarterly or annual reports.
